    ADMISSION ANNOUNCEMENT FOR BACHELOR OF EDUCATION (B.Ed.)

            PROGRAMME JANUARY, 2026

The Indira Gandhi National Open University will be admitting students for B.Ed. Programme, batch commencing from January 2026 through Entrance Test to be held all over the country. Date of Entrance Test will be communicated later on.           

    ELIGIBILITY 

BACHELOR OF EDUCATION PROGRAMME (B.Ed.)At least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree in Sciences/Social Sciences/Commerce/ Humanities. Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualifications equivalent thereto.

AND

The following categories are eligible to be students of B.Ed. (ODL):(i) Trained in-service teachers in elementary education.(ii) Candidates who have completed a NCTE recognized teacher education programme through face-to face mode.The reservation and relaxation of 5% marks in minimum eligibility will be provided to SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/PWD candidates as per the rules of the Central government. EWS reservation as per the rules of Central Government.The reservation to Kashmiri Migrants and War widow candidates will be provided as per University Rules.        AGEThere is no age bar for admission into the Programmes of the University.         

ADMISSION CRITERIA & RESERVATION BACHELOR OF EDUCATION PROGRAMME (B.Ed.)- 

Admission to this programme is merit based.(Nodal Regional Centre wise merit list will be prepared).       

    REGISTRATION

Submission of online application form for B.Ed. Programmes can be undertaken online at www.ignou.ac.in from 29.01.2026. Centres for Examination will be allotted as per the availability of the seats.     

    EXAMINATION FEE

Rs. 1000/- should be remitted through payment gateway, using a Credit Card or a Debit Card issued by Banks in India or through online Banking.Please refer to the B.Ed Prospectus at the website www.ignou.ac in for fee structure, courses offered, scheme of examination, eligibility conditions and other details.
