Public Notice regarding Addition of Examination Cities and Expansion of City Choice Options for UGC-NET June 2026 Examination

Subject: Addition of Examination Cities and Expansion of City Choice Options for UGC-NET June 2026 Examination.

1. The NTA has been entrusted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with the task of conducting UGC-NET, which is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for
   (i) ‘award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor’,
   (ii) ‘appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D.’
   (iii) ‘admission to Ph.D. only’ in Indian universities and colleges.
2. The online application process for the examination was open from 29 April 2026 to 24 May 2026. Further, the Correction Portal has been made available to enable candidates to make corrections in the particulars/details of their online application forms.
3. Considering the limited availability of examination city options for candidates belonging to North-Eastern States, the following additional examination cities have been included in the city choice options for the UGC-NET June 2026 Examination:

4. Further, candidates belonging to Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim will also be able to opt for examination cities available in neighbouring North-Eastern States through the Correction Portal.
5. Eligible candidates may exercise the revised/additional city choice options during the stipulated correction period through the official website of NTA.
6. Candidates are advised to regularly visit the official website for the latest updates regarding the examination.

Public Notice regarding Correction in particulars of the Online Application Form for UGC-NET June 2026

Subject: Correction in particulars of the Online Application Form for UGC-NET June 2026.

1. The NTA has been entrusted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) with the task of conducting UGC-NET, which is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for
   (i) ‘award of Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as Assistant Professor’,
   (ii) ‘appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to Ph.D.’
   (iii) ‘admission to Ph.D. only’ in Indian universities and colleges.
2. As per the Information Bulletin and earlier Public Notice, it has been decided to provide an opportunity to make corrections in the particulars of the Online Application Form of UGC-NET June 2026 examination, as per the schedule given below:

Examination – UGC-NET June 2026
Duration for Correction in Particulars – 26th May 2026 to 28th May 2026 (upto 11:50 P.M.)
Fields for Corrections – As per Annexure-I

3. All registered candidates are advised to visit the official website https://ugcnet.nta.nic.in, and verify their particulars in their respective Online Application Forms. If required, they may make corrections in the permitted fields only within the above period.
4. This facility is extended only once to avoid any hardship to the candidates. Therefore, candidates are advised to make corrections carefully, as no further opportunity for correction will be provided. No corrections will be accepted after 28 May 2026 (11:50 P.M.) under any circumstances.
5. Only one-time correction will be allowed to the candidate i.e. once the corrections are done and submitted, the form shall be frozen.
6. The additional fee (if applicable) shall be paid by the candidate concerned through Credit/Debit
   Card, Net Banking, or UPI only.
