In a joint family, many members live together and share responsibilities, which helps in faster socialization of children, though conflicts may occur. A nuclear family consists of parents and their children, where parents give full attention to the child and maintain close relationships, but children may become demanding and lack adjustment. Parents play an important role in shaping a child’s personality. Different parenting styles influence children’s behaviour in different ways. Thus, family is the primary agency that develops a child’s personality and social behaviour through interaction,care and guidance.
